This “Elegy" (50” x 41") is for 23-year-old Elijah McClain. Returning from the corner store, he was roughed up by Aurora, CO Police and died. Friends recalled his “gentle spirit.” Self-taught on the violin, he would play for the kittens in the pet store next to where he worked to ease their loneliness.
